MARZAPANE DECORATED PLATES – 6 PIECES SET – AQUAMARINE AND VINTAGE PINK

The dishes in our Marzapane collection are inspired by the colours of traditional Sicilian sweets made from sugar and almonds.

They are made completely freehand by our master craftsmen, who transform each dish into a genuine work of art.

The process of creating each dish is long and complex, and it is for this reason that when you choose a set of our dishes you bring an all-Italian masterpiece of craftsmanship into your home.

Select your favourite sets to create a service for 2, 4, or 6 people.

PRODUCTION

It all starts when the clay, our raw material, is turned and modelled by hand until the plate’s desired shape is obtained.

After allowing it to dry naturally and slowly in the open air, it undergoes an initial firing of 36 hours at a temperature of around 980°C.

Once the first firing is completed, the dish is cooled and then immersed in white glaze.
This process allows us to cover the raw terracotta and provides a perfect base for decoration.

At this point our master craftsmen start to create the decoration, which is executed completely freehand and without the help of prints or decals, relying only upon imagination and craftsmanship and drawing inspiration from traditional decorations dating back to the 17th and 18th century, or innovating with modern colours.

Once the decoration is complete, the dish undergoes a second firing of about 36 hours at 950°C which fixes the decoration, turning each dish into a unique piece.
After cooling naturally, the dish is ready for use.

Good for everyday use as well as for special occasions, the bright colours of our dishes, so typical of Sicilian style, really make them stand out.

Orange, vintage green and pink, blue, azure, aquamarine – we use a lot of colours to bring our decorations to life.
We suggest using a neutral-coloured tablecloth in pure linen or cotton, or one embroidered in the Sicilian style.
It will make the dishes stand out even more and ensure that your table looks wonderful.

Upon request prior to ordering, plates can be adapted for wall hanging.

Replacements for individual dishes can be purchased, subject to availability.

PERSONALIZATION OF PRODUCTS

Upon request, the underside of plates can be personalised with names or dates.

CARING FOR YOUR PLATES

Our handmade dishes are durable and dishwasher-safe.
We in any case suggest handling them carefully and avoiding the use of solvents or abrasive sponges which might damage the glaze.
Be careful not to bang them together while loading the dishwasher and separate them well to avoid wear.
